Advocacy and support services for older people.

Ashfield and Mansfield Community Mental Health Team

Community care and support for people with mental health difficulties: advice, information, counselling, health care, and treatment for people living in the community. Run by Health and Social Services.

How to contact: By referral from GPs, consultants and in-patient staff, social services or other agencies.

Befriending

A befriending service especially for people at risk of falls or social isolation.

Feel Good Families

Aims to provide opportunities for families – children, parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles - to move, play and smile together through community-based activities and events. Residents can sign up online and it is free.

Feel Good Food

Aims to build knowledge and awareness of eating healthily, as well as encouraging people to buy food locally, supporting local businesses and market traders, with a particular focus on the Sutton area. The project is also taking a strong approach to reducing food poverty within the Ashfield district.

Notts Help Yourself

Lots of information on local clubs and activities to suit all ages, childcare providers, support for young people aged 0 to 25 with a special educational need and/or a disability, and health and social care and support for adults and children.

Rambling Club

Caters to a range of fitness and ability levels. Children can go for free if accompanied by an adult and everyone is welcome to sample two rambles before joining the club.

Women’s Institute

There are local branches of the WI throughout the area where you can forge friendships, learn new skills, have your voice heard, and make a difference in your community.
