Keeping your home in a safe and good condition

emh homes is a registered landlord and provider of services with the Regulator of Social Housing. This means we must comply with the new consumer standards that came into force on 1 April 2024.

Our repairs and maintenance services come under the Home Standard. This sets out that:

Registered providers shall:
(a) Provide a cost-effective repairs and maintenance service to homes and communal areas that responds to the needs of, and offers choices to, tenants, and has the objective of completing repairs and improvements right first time
(b) Meet all applicable statutory requirements that provide for the health and safety of the occupants in their homes.

To keep your home safe and comfortable, we run a regular schedule of planned maintenance including:

  • Gas servicing
  • Electrical testing/upgrading
  • External decorating
  • Insulation
  • Fixing roofs and chimneys
  • Kitchen and bathroom renovations

We will always keep you fully informed about maintenance work by writing to you in advance with details of the work and names of the contractors.

If we need to carry out major repairs we will discuss it with you in advance and where possible give you choices on design and materials. If we need to access your home we will always agree a suitable time with you.
