Home-Start works with families in communities right across the UK. Starting in the home, the approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.

Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice Leicestershire provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems (e.g. debt and welfare benefits, housing, employment, consumer issues, family and relationship issues and basic immigration queries). They can also help with form filling.

Turn2Us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially.

Foodbanks

The Trussell Trust food bank in Coalville provides food parcels for those in crisis or with low incomes. You will need a referral. Open Tuesdays 10am - 12.30pm, and Fridays 10am-12pm.

Health

North West Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Team can support you to stay in but stay active with their Healthy at Home offer.

Older Adults

Help the Elderly Ashby de la Zouch and Heather are supporting elderly people in the area by providing shopping runs and donating items to give out to people struggling to get to shops/pharmacies etc. The service is specifically for older people and those on low income.

People at Risk

Local Area Coordination in Leicestershire works with local people, organisations and services to promote opportunities for people who may be vulnerable or at risk. This includes people who may be experiencing challenges in coping with daily life due to their age, disability, mental health or due to social isolation.

First Contact Plus

First Contact Plus is an online tool which helps adults in Leicestershire find information about a range of services all in one place.

The initiative allows residents who require help with one or a number of issues to access a catalogue of information, advice, help and support.

Information and resources on housing, health, living independently, money advice, work, security and other topics that assist the county’s residents can be found on this site.
