East Midlands-based social housing and care provider emh group is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Jones as Executive Director of Development.
Chris has extensive experience in delivering residential properties of all tenures in the private and public sectors. He was previously Development Director at Orbit Homes for nine years, overseeing the second largest development programme in the social housing sector. Chris also brings a wealth of commercial knowledge in developing strategic partnerships and unlocking new business opportunities.
Winner of the UK Housing Award for Outstanding Development Programme in 2016, emh group continues to deliver a range of housing options, covering regeneration, rural, extra care, and Passivhaus. Completed in 2016, the 68 new emh group homes on Saffron Lane in Leicester make up the largest residential Passivhaus development in the UK.
Chris was attracted to emh group as it presented the opportunity to join a strong values-based organisation, and the chance to build on existing partnerships.
Chris said: “emh group already has one of the largest development programmes in the East Midlands, but I am excited to be getting in on the start of an ambitious growth programme. I have an excellent team around me and several great projects already in the pipeline, so I will be hitting the ground running.”
Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris Jones as our new Executive Director of Development. His wealth of experience in developing high quality new homes will help us in our ambition to increase our output to 450 new homes a year in the next two years.”
