Local housing group chairman stands down
"His leadership was crucial to the success of the organisation and I would like to thank him for his commitment and support."
Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive
The Chair of emh group has stood down after the expiry of his term of office.
Michael Pearson was previously Chair of East Midlands Housing Association, and was appointed Chair of emh group when it was established in 2008.
Over the last two years, Michael has successfully steered the group through some major changes, including an organisational restructure and the securing of £200 million in the capital markets through a public bond issue.
Following a robust selection process involving an independent advisor, Michael is succeeded by Jeffrey Knight, who has been Vice Chair since 2008.
Jeffrey was formerly Pro Vice Chancellor (Research) at De Montfort University, and is currently Chair of the Audit Committee of the NHS Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group.
Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive, said: “Michael led the Board during a period of significant change and expansion of the group, which now has a turnover of over £90m and 1,100 employees. His leadership was crucial to the success of the organisation and I would like to thank him for his commitment and support.”
