Our Passivhaus development on Heathcott Road on the Saffron Lane Estate in Leicester was the winner in the Residential category at the RICS East Midlands Awards.

The awards, given by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, showcase the achievements of the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction, and the environment.

Heathcott Road was also shortlisted in the Community Benefit category. Royal Oak Court in the centre of Coalville, formerly the Pick and Shovel pub, was shortlisted in the Regeneration and Residential categories.

The judges commented on the winning scheme in the awards brochure: “The judges were impressed by this outstanding residential development of 68 affordable homes, encapsulating all that is good in modern site and space planning in terms of style as well as both community creation and internal, flexible, forward “occupier life planning” design. All while achieving outstanding energy efficiency through its Passivhaus status and clever water management.”

The winner will now go on to compete against other regional winners at the RICS Awards Grand Final in November.
